Lincoln ~Wheat~ Cents (1909-1958) First issued in 1909, the Lincoln Cent has become the most popular of all American coin series, honoring the person many Americans believed to be the best president who ever lived. Part of the first year had the initials of the designer, Victor D. Brenner (VDB), prominently displayed at the bottom of the coin on the reverse. These initials were removed later in the year 1909. With the Lincoln cent completing a 100-year run, the year 2009 will see a new design for the cent. Expect explosive demand for all Lincolns as the new issues are released. Don't wait to make your purchases!
